Seth Godin has a very nice post about launching squidoo.com and what and his team has learned. It is all good and deserves a reading however a few points stick out:

• Patience: it is not all going to happen overnight so prepare yourself.
• People learn by example. I love this one. Applies to so much more than building community. Inspiration is key to almost everything (building a team, a community etc)
• What you start with is wrong. Well, amen to that but learn, learn quickly and revamp, re-do, re-everything.
