9:30 PM last night and I was at my desk wondering if I had the energy to go for a run and then I remembered that my ability to stay focused depends on the runs. So I ran. The 5 KM run was quick. 5 KM is not enough to allow my brain to shut down. Typically it takes me 5 KM to stop thinking about work and mentally answering e-mails. 15 KM is an ideal distance to stop having a mental boxing match with my brain. Brain wants to work, I want to take a break and re-focus and prioritize. Continuous battle. I win at the 15 KM mark.
